Our story
Why we started
Protege AI began with one question: where are enterprises losing the most time and money to work that shouldn't require human effort?
To find out, we interviewed more than 200 enterprise workers across industries — listening for problems painful enough to matter and repetitive enough that AI could genuinely help. Our conviction: AI should take the most tedious, high-stakes work off people's plates, freeing teams for the judgment only humans can provide.
One pattern kept surfacing — marketing legal review. Slow, expensive, error-prone, and nearly universal. Alex had seen it firsthand as a client at AWS. So we built Review, our automated marketing compliance product.
What started as a focused compliance tool grew into something bigger. The more we worked with enterprise teams, the clearer it became that manual review and repetitive knowledge work were a systemic problem — not just in marketing, but across the business. That insight led to Hookshot™, our event-driven agent deployment system.
